Football is more than a game, it’s a way of life, which is passed from generation to generation. Despite its connective power families seem to be disappearing from stadiums due to the aggressive behaviour of organized fan clubs – as shown by the football fandom country research. Mastercard and FC Maribor have therefore teamed up in the #BallCanBringUsTogether initiative to revive the lost tradition of priceless moments and changed Ljudski vrt into the first family friendly stadium with animations, benefits and sweepstakes in the family sector. Together we also fulfilled one of the biggest dreams by making one Slovenian child a Player’s Mascot at the UEFA Champions League Finals in Madrid, and proved fans can root fairly. We joined families from opposing clubs, who rooted side by side in the family sector at derby match.
